“Across the Pond” Fan Fundraiser

Our fundraiser ended at 4PM on Valentines Day, Feb. 14. Thanks to our fans, we raised over $2500 to make this album!

PROJECT UPDATE
Fourteen tracks have been recorded, with our brilliant engineer Ryan Davidson on the knobs, and we are making some final tweaks before sending them off to Germany for mixing and mastering. We’ve recorded Irish reels and jigs and waltzes, American songs, old time and Quebecois and Acadian fiddle tunes, played on fiddles, guitar, banjo, bouzouki, and mandola.

In early January, John and Stu packed up their fiddles, guitars, banjo, bouzouki, and mandola and migrated northward to the rugged Pacific coast near Fort Bragg, California to make this record. There in the misty gloom of towering redwoods and pounding surf we did temporarily shed the hustle and bustle of our modern lives and for one precious week, focused on our deep love for traditional music.

We enlisted the help of engineer and ethnomusicologist Ryan Davidson, who helped produce Stu’s TRADITION record, to capture the music. We plan to send rough mixes to Juergen Treys (of Cara, Litha) in Germany for mixing and mastering. Juergen is the studio wizard who mixed and mastered the recent album LIFT from Molly’s Revenge.

Thank you for your support of traditional music!
